Holiday Fashion Trends

Don’t get nervous…but yes, the Holiday season is right around the corner.  Don’t get me wrong, I like the Holidays as much as the next guy, but I am in No Way ready for the holidays…That being said, even if I’m not ready, I do think it’s smart to think about some of the holiday trends, so we can dress ourselves fabulously and fashionably!  And don’t forget, if you cannot make it to my next Trunk Show, November 15-27 (shameless plug, btw), you can shop in your own closet!
HOLIDAY FASHION TRENDS
1.  Suit Yourself
Key players. Triple threats. Matched-up suits. It-list jackets. Quickest way to go from office-hours to after-hours. A wardrobe of flirty tops to go-with. Do cool in a motorcycle jacket/skinny pant; fine textured bouclé in Technicolor; herringbone Jacquard with ribbon trim; the sleekest winter white jacket over the chic’est sheath. Pair grey stone tweed with a Jacquard skirt; Peridot velveteen with Peridot dots; glen plaid with black leather; and then mix and remix for every party, every plan.
How to wear it:

  • Cross-dye twill 3-piece suiting
  • Mini herringbone Jacquard 3-piece suiting
  • Heather/tweed bouclé textured skirt suit
  • Double face mélange tweed military jacket
  • Peridot velveteen silk-trimmed jacket
  • Textured glen plaid jersey-trimmed jacket
  • Winter white double weave jacket dress

2.  Black Tie

We’ve got your tux. Supple. Luscious. Soft. Sultry. In satin-back crepe, of course. We took our cue from menswear. And turned it into the sexiest thing in your wardrobe. The jacket longer, drapier, epic-chic. To suit-up with pants wide-legged or skinny; pop over a wrapped skirt; double as a tunic over a legging. Don’t stop there. Add unexpected elements like spills of red crepe; sweeping velvet pants; wild notes of animal; pleated, ruffled and sculpted tops to go-with.

How to wear it:

  • Black tux jacket / wide-leg pant / faux wrap skirt
  • White ribbon-sashed origami-pleated shirt
  • White pleat-ruffled trimmed shirt
  • Black tux-styled skinny pant
  • Bronze/Black wide-leg velvet jacquard pant
  • Animal mosaic print sheath
  • Leopard jacquard/colorblock sheath
  • Lacquer Red crepe jacket / blouse / pencil skirt

3.  Champagne Toast

Glam neutrals. Champagne. Crème de menthe. Startlingly modern shades that shamelessly flirt with greystone, black and chestnut. The musts: a satin twill coat dress perfect for holiday cocktails. Crème de menthe knits to layer gently, tie softly, wear as a twin set, or not. Sexy flashes of bronze take over from gold. In velvet pants, foil-print sweaters, a chain-draped metallic belt. An edgy fur-trimmed poncho, tough leather pencil and sueded satin bootskirt shout downtown chic.

How to wear it:

  • Champagne satin twill coatdress
  • Champagne sandwashed satin bootskirt
  • Black leather skirt with quilted tech trim
  • Black sweater knit poncho with rabbit trim
